BEACON JUNIOR BASEBALL 2025

BJB 2025 SEASON

Our spring activities will open as soon as our fields are playable in early April with division evaluations and practices. It will end on the weekend of June 14th and 15th.

We have tried very hard this offseason to think about how we can provide the best blend of a fun, social, developmental, and competitive experience for every child in our program. To that end, we have divided the league into 5 divisions for this season. This is significant because we had only 4 listed for registration after having only 4 last year. It was important to us to create a division in which our 7-8 year olds don’t have to play against 9 year olds and a division in which our 9-10 year olds can play against each other. I will be making the appropriate edits on the website to reflect that each player is registered in the appropriate division based on their age. Only after careful evaluation by coaches and honest communication with parents will we decide that it is appropriate to move a player up or down a division.

The divisions are defined below:

“Fun”damental 4s

4 or under on 8/31/25
Clinic every Sunday from 9-10am

Tee Ball

5 or 6 years old on 8/31/25
Games on Sundays from 9-10am

Rookie

7 or 8 years old on 8/31/25
Division practices and/or games on Wednesdays at 5:30
Games on Saturdays at 12:30 or 2:30

Minors

9 or 10 years old on 8/31/25
Division practices and/or games on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30
Games on Saturdays at 12:30 or 2:30

Majors

11 or 12 years old on 8/31/25 &
10 year olds who meet evaluation standards may be elevated
Division practices and/or games on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30
Games on Saturdays at 12:30 or 2:30

Some 2025 things I want to highlight:

“Fun” 4s & Tee Ball Sundays - supported by players from BHS Baseball & Softball
Beacon Girls (Rec) Softball will be joining our tee ball league
All of our coaches will be coaching all of our kids - division practices rather than team practices throughout the season during which our coaches work together to coach every player in a division at practice and compete against each other on game days
Majors & Minors - our 9-10s and 11-12s will compete in different divisions on game days but coaches from both divisions will work together on practice nights to provide a community approach to developing baseball skills
Special exhibition games v. Fishkill Little League - each of our Majors teams will play under the lights at Shepherd Park in Fishkill v. a rec team from Fishkill Little League
Equipment Donation Program - BJB will accept gently used baseball equipment and make it available for use by players in need of equipment
Diamond Buddies - BJB is working with the BHS Baseball & Softball programs to build stronger connections and a community of support from the youngest to our oldest kids in our community
Improvements to our facilities - expected audio and electrical upgrades
Opening Day & Other Special Events - information will be updated on our website and social media in the coming days and future emails with more details will follow in the upcoming weeks
